Installation

Proper shutter installation is almost as important as the shutter itself. For all shutters, from interior wood shutters to all interior shutters and Bahama shutters to all exterior shutters, an improperly installed shutter can bind and be tough to open. The Plantation Shutter Company will send a professional installation crew to your home and install your interior and exterior shutters precisely, making sure that every shutter operates the way it's supposed to.

Your local plantation shutter expert will call you to set up an installation day and time that works best with your schedule. Before the installers arrive, remove all old window treatments and move any furniture blocking the windows away from the wall. This makes it easy for our installation team to get right to work on your plantation shutters.

We will attach the frame to the wall inside the window opening for an inside mount, or on the wall around the window opening for an outside mount. Once the frame is secured in place, we'll hinge each shutter panel into the frame. The panels feature a magnet that keeps them closed tight to the frame, but able to be opened with a slight pull.
